Apartment at Landmark 81 Vinhomes building
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about staying at an apartment in the Apartment at Landmark 81 Vinhomes building, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. You know how some serviced apartments can feel a bit sterile? Well, this four-star setup completely changed my mind about that whole concept.
The thing that hits you immediately is just how massive Landmark 81 actually is when you’re standing in the lobby looking up. I mean, we’re talking about the tallest building in Vietnam here, and honestly, it’s pretty surreal staying inside what’s essentially a vertical city. The apartment itself feels more like a proper home than a hotel room – there’s a full kitchen that actually works (I tested it with some bánh mì reheating), decent-sized living area, and the bedroom setup is comfortable without being fancy. What really got me though was the view situation. Depending on which side you get, you’re either looking out over the Saigon River winding through Ho Chi Minh City or across the sprawling cityscape that seems to go on forever. The river views are obviously the winner, especially around sunset when the whole sky turns this incredible orange-pink.
The building itself is like a small town – there’s a shopping mall downstairs, restaurants, even a sky bar up top that the locals actually use, which is always a good sign. You’re right in the Binh Thanh District, which puts you close enough to District 1 for easy exploring but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the constant motorbike chaos of the main tourist areas. Getting around is pretty straightforward – grab a Grab bike or taxi, and you’re in the heart of the action in about fifteen minutes, depending on traffic (and there’s always traffic, let’s be real). The apartment comes with all the practical stuff you need – good WiFi, air conditioning that actually keeps up with the humidity, and a washing machine that was honestly a lifesaver during my stay. Check-in was surprisingly smooth for what could have been a complicated process, and the building security is tight without being annoying about it. One thing worth mentioning – the elevators can get pretty busy during peak hours since you’re sharing with residents, not just other travelers, but I kind of liked that authentic living-in-the-city feeling. If you’re looking for that traditional hotel service experience with daily housekeeping and concierge hovering around, this might not be your thing. But if you want to feel like you’re actually living in Ho Chi Minh City for a few days, with space to spread out and cook your own meals while still having that wow-factor location, it’s pretty hard to beat this spot.
